Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after five cars were stolen during the MK Dons match on Saturday (18/9/2010).
Between 2.30pm and 5pm, four cars were stolen from Third Avenue, Denbigh West, and a fifth from Dawson Road, Mount Farm. Four of the vehicles belonged to MK Dons fans attending the match.
The vehicles stolen were a black Vauxhall Corsa, a grey Vauxhall Zafira, a grey Mini Cooper convertible, a black Audi A3 and a grey Ford Focus. At this stage it is not clear how the vehicles were removed but police suspect a low loader or a tow-bar system was used. Windows on some of the vehicles were broken to gain access.
PC Isen Wharton, investigating the thefts, said: “This is a high-value theft of multiple vehicles during a short two and a half hour period. The people stealing the vehicles would require somewhere to store them and someone to dispose of the vehicles for them.
“They may have had to store the vehicles somewhere temporarily while they removed all five from their parking spaces around the stadium. They may have had to do this somewhere public and could have attracted some attention and maybe raised people’s suspicions. If anyone remembers seeing anything suspicious or has any information about this crime, please contact the police or Crimestoppers.”
If you have any information about this incident, please contact PC Wharton at Milton Keynes police station via the 24-hour non-emergency number, 0845 8 505 505. If you do not want to speak to the police, call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
