Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after an 89-year-old man was threatened and robbed in his home on Saturday (10/10) morning.

The incident happened at around 8am at an address in Capron, Beanhill. The offender entered the house through an unlocked door; he grabbed the victim by the front of his jumper and his arm and demanded money. The victim handed over two £20 notes.

The offender is around 18-years-old, white, 5ft 6ins and slim. He was wearing a grey hooded top and brown coloured bottoms.

Det Con Wendy Fellowes, leading the investigation said: “This type of crime is despicable. The victim has been left badly shaken by this attack and we need the publics help to catch the offender. We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a man matching this description running off.

“I would like to remind residents to always lock front and back doors whether you are in the house or not. The victim has been visited by our crime prevention officers to offer reassurance and to give security advice. Crime prevention advice had also been circulated to other residents in the area. Please don’t give these offenders the opportunity they are looking for. Keep you doors locked.”
