Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a grievous bodily harm at a pub in Bletchley...

gbhThe victim was drinking with friends in the Old Swan Pub, Shenley Road, Bletchley, on Saturday 2 October evening. Just before midnight he separated from his friends and went to the smoking area at the rear of the premise.

While he was in the smoking area an altercation occurred and the victim was assaulted by at least one offender. He sustained a significant injury to his neck and a number of cuts and bruising. He was taken to Milton Keynes General Hospital where he received 15 stitches in addition to numerous butterfly stitches.

It was a busy night at the pub with two parties being held at the premises and police believe the incident could have been witnessed by a number of people.

Police are appealing for anyone who was at the premises on Saturday evening or the early hours of Sunday 3 October to contact them as they may have information vital to the investigation.

PC Chris Bird, Neighbourhood Specialist Officer, said: “The Old Swan is a quiet, friendly venue and this is an isolated incident. The landlord and the brewery are working with the police to identify the offender to ensure no one else can be subjected to a similar attack.

“We are carrying out a number of lines of enquiries and it initially appears that there were a number of people present at the time of the offence and they may know the identity of the offender. I urge these people to come forward or contact Crimestoppers.”

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Det Con Simon Tyas at Milton Keynes police station via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you do not want to talk to the police, call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
