Thames Valley policeThames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at a Tesco Express store in Milton Keynes last night (16/12/2010).

The incident happened at about 10.40pm at the store in Holst Crescent, Old Farm Park. Three men entered the store, one carrying what appeared to be a handgun, and one of the other two was carrying a knife.

The offenders threatened a female cashier and demanded she hand over money and cigarettes. They ran from the store with the contents of one till and some cigarettes, the value of which is not yet known.

All three offenders are black. The offender carrying the gun was wearing a grey hooded top and a black and white scarf over the bottom half of his face.

The second offender was wearing a black woollen hat, a black scarf covering his face, a black waist-length jacket and a light green top underneath.

The third offender was wearing a black hooded puffa-style and a dark blue pair of jeans.

DC Tom Belcher, leading the investigation, said: “Fortunately no one was hurt during the robbery but the cashier and a second member of staff were shaken by the incident. We would really like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw people matching the descriptions in the area shortly before or after the offence.

“I would like to reassure people that offences like this are very rare in Milton Keynes and we are following up a number of leads to catch the people responsible. Any help the public can give us to identify these offenders would be appreciated.”
