Biased Commons Speaker criticised over Expenses Debate

Wednesday, 05 March 2008 12:48

House of Commons Speaker Michael Martin has become notorious for bias, favouring his own parties MPs when it comes to who gets to speak in the House of Commons. If he weren’t typically New Labour he would have been sacked by now.

With his won situation in mind, it is not surprising that he has been criticised for his handling of debates concerning MPs fiddling their expenses The Mail reported that one senior Labour MP had told them:

‘There is a great deal of unhappiness at his attitude. He has a cohort of favourites, he has a bullying attitude. His handling of ‘MPs expenses has also raised questions about his suitability.’ Unfortunately he is UN sackable and we pay for his privileged life style.
