Bistro LIVE Bands Night Arrival at Bistro LIVEWe were invited to go down to Bistro LIVE and got down there for 7.30pm, told them who we were and were taken and seated at table seven, a table laid out for the ten of us. There was all-sorts of nibbles to tuck in to like: tortilla crisps and ciabatta bread with garlic dip. Firstly we ordered our first round of drinks, chatted then looked at the menu in prep to order. There were flags laid out on the table of which the staff explained on our arrival were for the purpose of getting a staff members attention. So when ready to eat we waved a checkered flag and straight away a waitress appeared to take our order.  The SenatorsIt was a three course meal which wasn't rushed at all. We had plenty of time to finish each meal. One of us asked for a small plate of orange segments to eat on the side and I think it was Steve the waiter who during the night brought two plates over free of charge. While we were eating the band came on to play. I hope that Bistro carry on having music playing as you eat but that they keep it mellow. It's nice having a band play as you eat. The band were called The Senators and are an experienced covers band from Blackpool, playing covers from all eras. They started at about 8.45 and played for about 30 mins, leaving for a bit of dinner themselves. Bistros Quiz, Hen Nights and Birthdays  After the final part of the meal, the pudding, strawberry cheesecake which was yummy, there was a quiz. Bistro LIVE played snippets of songs and we had to write down who it was the songs were by. I think it was a £300 - £350 pound prize for the winner. Our team was useless, too busy chatting, so I never expected us to do well in the quiz. Then there was a call-out for all those who were on Hen Nights and Birthdays'. Whoever was celebrating a special day had to stand on their chair so everyone could see who it was and applaud. All age groups dancing on the tablesFinally the band came on to finish the night off with some covers to get the crowd going. The band The Senators play at various Bistro LIVE gigs around the country and have been for some time. So they aren't shy when it comes to knowing how to get the crowd going. Bistro LIVE specializes in covers bands, which for this type of venue is apt if you want to get the crowd going, and that's exactly what happened, apart from the crowd filling up the dance floor they were even dancing on the chairs and tables. So wherever you looked the bar was grooving. It's the sort of venue where any age can fit in nicely and I haven't seen too many of places like this, if any. I know every venue likes to encourage all ages groups to mix no matter what the venue, but at Bistro LIVE it's happening. No matter what the age, everyone fitted in  nicely and enjoyed themselves equally. We always had our flags handy for when we needed a drink but later in the evening a couple of waiters came to our table rigged out with drinks hanging in like holsters round their waists. Like a cowboy but instead of guns and ammo, vodka shots.Bistro LIVE an original venue It was a good night. You can tell that Bistro LIVE prides itself on being original and giving the public something they can't get anywhere else, which is true, it has a very unique feel to it. The staff were good, especially Steve. Bistro LIVE is generally a great place for those who want to party in an ABBA style way.
