Thames Valley Police was called Sunday 06/02/2011, 11.12am, after a member of the public saw a body in the canal in the Giffard Park area.

Although the body has not been formally identified, clothing and identification found on the body suggests that it is missing man Paolo Sicorello.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place Tuesday 08/02/2011, but the death is not being treated as suspicious.

DI Simon Robert said: “Paolo’s family were notified yesterday of the discovery and our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the media and the public for all their help and support during the search for Paolo. Obviously we were all hoping for a positive outcome so this is a very sad end to what has been an extremely difficult time for all of Paolo’s family and friends.”
