21 October 2008Milton Keynes officers have released images of three men that they believe could help with their inquiry into a theft from a cashpoint.
The incident took place in Lloyds TSB bank, Secklow Gate West in Milton Keynes town centre on Friday 15 August.
Shortly after 12 noon, an 80-year-old woman was using a cashpoint inside the bank when she was distracted by two men who told her that the machine was broken.
After being distracted, the victim then turned back to the machine, but her card had been removed and it was later used to take out a substantial amount of cash from her account.
Officers would like to speak to three men inside the bank at the time of the theft.
PC Keith Fetherston, who is leading the investigation, said: “Those who are responsible for this theft took advantage of an elderly woman.
“We have been working hard to get good images of three men that we believe will be crucial to helping us to identify those who carried out this crime. I am hoping that this will enable us to catch them."
He added: "Fortunately, the victim was not hurt in the incident, but she has been left angry and frustrated and wants those responsible to be caught.”
The first of the three men is described as Asian, of medium build and with shaved hair. The second is described as black, around 5ft 5ins tall and was wearing a baseball cap. The third is described as Asian, of slim build and has short black hair.
Anyone who recognises any of the men in the photos should contact PC Fetherston at Milton Keynes police station via 0845 8 505 505, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. If you do not wish to speak to police or do not want to give your name, please contact Crimestoppers or the Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
