Cavill Academy Player Is Crowned County Champ

zack2Cavill Academy tennis player, Zack MacQueen, won the 2010 Bucks Boys 10 and Under County Closed final at Chesham Bois Tennis Club on Saturday 28th August. Zack, who turned 10 years old this month, was in fine form during the tournament. He was ranked as the number 1 seed and after crusing through the round robin stages by defeating Eilliott Abdey 4-1, 4-2 and Ewan Bierrum 4-0, 4-0, he came up against Matt Dixon who is also from Milton Keynes.

Zack dominated in the semi final against Matt by winning 4-1, 4-0. His next opponent was Theodore Kontos in the final. Zack got off to a great start by keeping the ball deep and staying consistent and he took the first set 4-0. In the second set he had a slight set back with his serve but he managed to regain focus and finish the set off 4-2.

Zack has been training with Milton Keynes based Cavill Academy which train at Stony Stratford Tennis Club since he was 6. He started playing tennis when he was 4, as his older brother also competes.
Cavill Academy Director and Coach, John Cavill, said,” I’m very pleased for Zack, as he lost in a close final last year, so to go one step further is a great achievement. He is a great competitor and physically very strong for his age. I’m sure Zack will use this experience to take his tennis forwards and become an even better player next year.”
