Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision involving a three-year-old boy which happened at about 8.30am on the morning of Monday 14/02/2011, in Bletchley, Milton Keynes.
The boy and his mother were waiting by the roadside in Buckingham Road, when they were waved across by the female driver of a blue Mini Cooper who then continued driving, hitting the boy. He suffered minor head injuries. The driver initially stopped and told the mother she would park the car and get out, but she then drove off without stopping.
Officers would like to speak to her, and any witnesses who may have information about the incident.
PC Faraz Vakani, who is investigating the collision, said: “The boy was lucky to have not been more seriously hurt. I would appeal for the driver to come forward and for anyone with any information about the incident to contact us as soon as possible”.
Anyone with any information should contact PC Vakani at Thames Valley Police via 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, if you do not want to speak to police or leave your name, please contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
