Diets – always start tomorrow!
Our lives seem to be so much busier than perhaps those of our parents and we don’t seem to get time eat a healthy balanced diet or exercise regularly due to working longer hours, or perhaps two jobs just to make ends meet. It is a fact that if you eat a healthy balanced diet and exercise more you will loose weight, but this takes time, it is much easier after a long day to put a pizza in the oven, or easier still to ring for a pizza to be delivered. Our children are being brought up to a culture of take-aways and burgers which although are nice for a treat are not good for the waist line as they are full of calories and fat and not enough of the nutrients our body needs to sustain a balanced diet. If you only put on one pound per month over a year that’s nearly a stone and it takes twice as long to loose it than it does to put it on.
Why not join a slimming club?
Some people find it easier to diet if they join a club, this can be for many reasons, you get support from people in the same boat who are going through the same things, you can get ideas on what foods are really good to aid your diet and you can learn how others cope with fighting off hunger and you can swap recipes and ideas. You also get weighed every week and when you see the pounds coming off it really helps spur you on with your diet. The Lose-it Coach provides an eating that plan is about balancing the right food groups during the day so you don't feel tired or hungry whilst building in favourite treats and social occasions and still losing weight.
What type of weight loss diet should I choose?
There are many such slimming clubs in Milton Keynes with the most familiar two being Weightwatchers and Slimming World, They both work slightly differently – Weightwatchers works on a points value per day so you can eat whatever you like but breads, cakes and biscuits have a higher points value than fresh fruit and vegetables for example. Slimming World has green and red days, green days are mainly vegetable based but you can have meat but that costs Sins and you only get a certain amount of Sins per day. Red days are more meat based. There are also many other dieting clubs or organisations and most of the diets work on reducing your fat intake along with regular exercise routines. There are more intense crash diet options out there such as slimming tablets (appetite suppressants), if you are thinking about trying this option it would be advisable to speak to you GP or a qualified Dietician before you start because sometimes this type of diet could have an adverse affect on your health.
Keep up regular exercise during and after your diet:
Whatever type of diet you choose it is important to keep up a regular exercise even after you have reached your ideal weight, this will help you keep fit and healthy and more importantly help you keep the weight off.
Some ways you can get more active:
Take the stairs not the lift Walk to the local shops instead of getting in the car Park further away from work so you have a longer walk each day Go for family walks at the weekends Get a bicycle and go for bike rides Join a health centre – start swimming or go to the gym Join an aerobics class Get a workout video to do at home
