The sexual revolution may have a lot to answer for. Back in the sixties the tabloid press revelled in stories of prominent politicians being caught in the park with guardsmen. In those days ruination was coupled with a jail sentence. The law was changed for consenting adults. The pill also gave women a lot more freedom to follow their instincts; these days part of the price we pay may be record marriage breakdowns, As people quest for more and more thrills. But when the new freedom leads to the blatant activities going on at Brogborough picnic area, one might wonder if things have gone too far. Brogborough picnic area is accessed via a narrow lane with a number of convenient lay byes. What can be seen there by the casual observer is truly shocking and even more goes on in the bushes at the bottom of the lane. The police are aware, but it is a challenging situation. Activities go on late into the night. It might be time for the cops to launch some undie cover operations. One must ask the question, is this appropriate behaviour for an open space where families should be enjoying summer days and nights free from offence. It's arguable that these activities are only people doing what comes naturally. One man said that it was all about looking for more and more highs. Another said he would like to get up there more often but shift work played havoc with his social life. But in many cases it seemed to be an example of sad lonely men trying to find an outlet in an increasingly loveless nation. Further to our investigations of dogging activities at Brogborough Picnic site, off junction 13, a Bedfordshire police spokesman told our reporter:
Among our reporters recent sightings, a bearded man, wearing fishnet stockings, was seen masturbating in his car. Each to his own perhaps- or is it just sad. Dogborough- May 12th 2008 |
