DUET FOR ONE TOURS EXCLUSIVELY TO MILTON KEYNES
The Almeida Theatre production of Tom Kempinski’s Duet for One starring two of British theatre’s finest actors, Juliet Stevenson and Henry Goodman will tour exclusively to Milton Keynes Theatre (8 – 12 September) following its hugely acclaimed and sell-out run at the Almeida Theatre and in the West End. Juliet Stevenson’s extensive stage career includes Paulina in Death and the Maiden for which she won the Laurence Olivier Best Actress Award, Anna in Burn This opposite John Malkovich and more recently as Arkadina in The Seagull at the National Theatre. Her film appearances include her award-winning performance in Truly Madly Deeply, in Bend It Like Beckham and Mona Lisa Smile. She has most recently appeared on television in ITV’s Place of Execution. Henry Goodman’s theatre credits include an award-winning performance as Shylock in The Merchant of Venice directed by Trevor Nunn, the title role of Richard III for the RSC and Tevye in the hugely successful West End run of Fiddler on the Roof. His film work includes Notting Hill and Mary Reilly, and he has recently finished filming the new Ang Lee film Taking Woodstock, to be released in 2009. Duet for One opened at the Almeida Theatre in January 2009 to hugely critical acclaim and quickly sold out its run of 53 performances. The production then transferred to the Vaudeville Theatre in the West End playing a limited 12-week run. Duet for One is directed by Matthew Lloyd with designs by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Jason Taylor and sound by John Leonard. This Almeida Theatre production is presented on tour by Lee Dean, Jenny Topper, Laurence Myers, Charles Diamond and Hilary Williams. Duet for One is sponsored by Pinsent Masons.
