Easter at thecentre:mk: The Green, Green Grass of Home

The Petting Farm will have a variety of animals including LambsFrom 2 - 18 April Middleton Hall, at regional shopping destination thecentre:mk, will be transformed into a village green to host thecentre:mk Easter Village Fete. The events space will be ‘grassed’ over and the fete will include children’s craft workshops, a petting farm, traditional rides and stalls selling homemade baking.

At 1800m2 Middleton Hall is largest events space of its kind in the UK and this Easter it will be ‘grassed’ over with artificial turf, surrounded by a white picket fence and draped in bunting to showcase thecentre:mk’s Easter Fete. The fete will be dominated by two marquees. The first will house a Petting Farm (running from 7 – 18 April) which will house animals including pigmy goats, lambs, hens, chicks, Vietnamese potbellied pigs, rabbits, and either a pony or a calf.  However, before the petting farm opens, Children’s crafts Workshops will run from the 2-6 April making Easter Cards (Friday 2 April), Easter Egg decorations (Saturday 3 April), Spring & Easter bookmarks (Monday 5 April) and Easter themed masks (Tuesday 6 April). The second marquee will play host to a wide variety of traditional stall holders selling homemade baking from around the region.

“This year thecentre:mk’s Easter activities will have a more traditional feel”, commented Jackie Tracey, Events Manager at thecentre:mk. “Up and down the country Easter Fete’s will be taking place celebrating the end of winter and advent of spring and thecentre:mk will be joining in the fun. The Petting Farm will allow children and adults to get close to baby animals they may not otherwise meet; they will also have the opportunity to help feed some of them during the days.

Retailers at thecentre:mk are also getting in on the act with the John Lewis store busy creating the 300 metres of bunting required to decorate Middleton Hall.”

Alongside all the petting farm, the children’s craft workshops and the cake stalls there will be swing boats, a carousel, coconut shy, hook a duck stall, two 60 year old display tractors and a test-your-strength machine for dad’s to showcase their manliness.
