Free Haircuts When Charitable People, (a company that helps local charities raise funds) heard about the work of The Ark Charity they arranged for top hairdresser Mark Lister to cut the kids hair. The idea was to help the kids feel good about themselves. Managing director of Charitable People, Michael Glossop said, “The Ark Charity should be proud of what it provides for homeless and disadvantaged youngsters in Milton Keynes. Hopefully with their new hair styles the kids will feel proud of themselves too ” The Arkmiltonkeynes.com spoke to Corinna a Support Worker who has worked at The Ark for over three years and has seen a fair few kids come and go. She chatted a little about the history of the Ark. Which has been open since 1976. It’s the support of people like Corinna that have given over 500 local young people a chance of a better life. People like Sanne (20) who used to live at the Ark and told us “it was more of a home than a hostel and it was a good learning curve".
