Local Dog Show to Be Held in Aid of Canine Partners |
A fun day out for all whilst helping charityThursday 28th May 2008: Canine Partners (Registered Charity No. 803680), is today announcing that the Companion Dog Show being held in Clapham on Saturday 7th June from 12-4pm will be in aid of the charity. The event, being held at the Happy Dog Training & Grooming Centre, features Pedigree & Novelty classes, a dog obstacle course, as well as a variety of stalls, a BBQ and refreshments. Canine Partners provides highly trained dogs to people with disabilities. These dogs transform the lives of wheelchair users by assisting with everyday tasks such as picking up dropped items, operating pedestrian crossings and carrying out emergency response procedures. The Charity already has a presence in Bedford with a Satellite Training Centre for puppies in their first year of training, as well as a number of partnerships. The charity is urgently looking for willing Puppy Parents to look after and train the puppies up to 12/24 months, as well as Foster Homes to cover holidays, sickness etc. Lorraine Lotan who runs the Bedford Satellite and the Happy Dog Training & Grooming Centre comments, – “We are constantly looking for ways to raise more funds to support the work of Canine Partners in this area. The Companion Dog Show is an ideal way for dog lovers to have a fun day out, as well as raising money to train more assistance dogs for people with disabilities.” For further information on the Companion Dog Show, please call Jenny Wynd on 01933 350862.
