Through this dancing triumph, the story is told in great detail, experience love, pain, suffering, death, routine, laughter, fun, jealously, hate, rejection and many more life experiences. Explosive, funny, dramatic, energetic and controversial in parts I found myself fixed in the storyline between a prince and his special swan friend. In summary the story told of a prince who struggled with day to day duties he was expected to carry out, looking to be just normal, he goes undercover to experience a normal lifestyle and get rejected, he stumble into a drunken dream whereby he experiences a special relationship with a swan putting to bed all his nightmares from before. He is then fazed by his mothers potential bad boy boyfriend and is almost tricked into believing it is his swan, in a rage he attempt to kill his mother and ends up killing his girlfriend, sent to the nut house he then is attacked by the swan’s in his bedroom, his friend swan attempts to save him but he is too hurt and dies along with his swan, he goes to heaven with his swan which is where he want to be. I think the swan scenes are all in his head and swept away by the moment, he believes it so much it turns result in his death, I think it all comes down to the fact he can’t cope with his responsibilities and it all ends up getting too much for him. There was a whole load of props and costumes throughout the show, everything was cleverly thought out and took advantage of, I particularly liked the name of the club ‘Swank’ a club that was appropriately named as it was a strip/brothel type of club but tied itself in with the word ‘swan’ very clever . With so much going on you could watch the show more than 10 times and still notice little things going on in the background or between other cast members, things you wouldn’t have noticed first time around, at no point could you be bored. All In all I had a really enjoyable evening and even found myself participating in the standing ovation something I’ve never done before,This show is a must so take advantage before the show moves on. I have never been to a ballet before and I have to admit it was unlike anything I have ever seen at the theatre before, me and ballet don’t normally go hand in hand but I sat there mesmerised and left wanting more.
