I would like to thank you for this website, it is a lot easier to read then the current one that Arriva have and it is much better to navigate around. I have read some of the comments posted and I was surprised. Admittedly the exact change rubbish that you get from the bus drivers is annoying, they carry change, why cant they use it!! The service is also unreliable and needs updating. If the council had thought about Milton Keynes properly before they developed it, they could have built an underground train or tram system, sort of like London, now that would have been excellent, and a lot quicker! lol
Thanks again for this website, I have never known where to pick up bus timetables! lol

I phoned the travel line no to gain information on bus times, as the tables on line are not CLEAR. Once I got through on the premium rate nop, the call handler did not give a proffessional service, I had to constantly repeat myself. Then when I asked for weekend times the call handeler constantly miss understood what I was saying. Then my credit ran out after a slow 9 min call, costing me over £3. This resulted in me not getting the weekend travel information that I required, due to the errors the call handler kept making.

+3 #26 Bus Fare RaiseTania Twigg 2011-05-23 09:27
I have got the bus this morning as usual to find after no notification that the buses again have changed there time by 5 mins earlier (whos bright idea is that - is it to make them look as though they run on time!!) and also to find that there has been an increase of 38% since friday evening when I travelled home - £1.80 on friday - £2.50 monday morning from Newport Pagnell to Central Milton Keynes which is absolutely crazy - how can this be jusified - there was no prior warning of such a steep increase - is it beacuse Arriva was embarressed to notify passengers of such a sharp raise!! What is Milton Keynes Council doing about this increase - nothing as usual I would imagine!!

-1 #25 Sherington BusesTom Nicholson 2011-05-18 13:42
Just went out to catch the bus from The Green in Sherington, lovely brick built bus shelter, only other bus stop at designated area on the other side of the road going in the wrong direction. Lo and behold the bus comes down a different road turns away from the bus stop and dissapears into the distance. I go and check, definately no bus stop sign on that part of The Green. So how am I suposed to catch the bus? I have one thought Milton Keynes Council Can't run a thing.

0 #24 mk buses, of course.ananymous 2011-03-09 12:07
I hapily got rid of the daily need for MK buses, but I have to use them sometimes, unfortunately.
I've been thinking (a lot!) and I believe that given their routes, the buses themselves simply cannot be better than this.

I fully agree with the previous comment, suggesting a very clever solution: let the buses run every 10-15 minutes, and until late, but mainly on the Vs and Hs, except for the CMK. Then you would get off at walkable distance from destination. Else, regardless the age, you would only have time to travel by and wait for the bus. This might take you up to 2 hrs (if you plan to come back as well), and so, if you are also working, there will be not much more left of the evening for a movie, sport, or anything else.
Waiting in the stop, or sitting in a moving bus, cannot be of any pleasure at all.

+3 #23 Poor bus serviceanon 2011-02-27 12:25
I am shocked that every single one of these comments is negative and still nothing has been done! I drive and thank god, because the bus service is a disgrace in MK. You'd think that such a large ever growing city would have a half decent bus survice. The drivers are rude to the point of aggression, as my brother's partner recently found out when one almost refused to let her on as she only had a £5 note, he dropped her money on the floor then swung his door open when she bent down to pick it up! Just what you want before you've started work! I don't see why the buses can't run every 10 mins along the H and V roads only as pretty much everybody lives a max of 10 mins walk away. Considering the roads were designed for trams and this is exactly what they would do I think it would work brilliantly. I learnt to drive just before I had my daughter as there was no way in hell I was taking her on and mk bus. I have seen a mother asked to fold her pram up (the child inside can't have been older then 4 months) all because a selfish perfectly abled woman refused to give up the pushchair seat even though I offered her my seat right behind her as "her daughter has to fold her pram up" the driver told the new mother to fold it up rather then tell the bitter middle aged woman to move to one of the MANY free seats on the bus. Seriously when is this going to be sorted? It could be great for young and old people alike.

+2 #22 Hanslope - TilbrookTascha 2011-02-21 10:29
My car has broken down and I need to rely on public transport to get me to work from Hanslope to Tilbrook for 8.30am, then back home at 4.30pm.
I'm struggling to find any buses that go to Tilbrook. I really can't afford to get buses AND a train as I wanted to be able to buy a monthly bus pass. Any ideas?

+1 #21 Poor Bus Service - Kents Hill to everywhere (nearly)!Maria Akathiotis 2011-02-17 03:30
I write on behalf of my mum. She does not drive and often feels comopltely cut off from the world, as the bus routes in the area do not service places such as the hospital (from Kents Hill), Crown Hill (to visit my dad's grave) and quite often do not run in to MKC. Quite often drivers stop when they want to, where they want to and often buses to MKC do not run at all, many bus do not show up - never mind on time! As the area is populate by many elderly people who can't or don't drive its pretty poor of the council. Are people supposed to sit at home feeling alienated from everything because of a poor bus service?

0 #20 The Kingston stop for the VT99Alan Wheeler 2011-02-02 11:37
I've put with a poor service from the VT99 for 12 months now. I live in MK, work in Luton and don't drive so I need it to be at least operational. However, the service reached its nadir this morning when we found out via a driver going in the opposite direction that the Kingston stop is being bypassed due to M1 closures. Apparently the stop has moved about half a mile. No signs up to tell us and nothing on the website as far as I can see. This shows utter disdain for the travelling public. It is not the drivers fault who aren't bad at all but the incompetence of the company as a whole is breathtaking. I expect very little from this service and they've managed to lower my expectations further still.

If what you have been told is correct, then Stagecoach do not appear to have told MKC. The current timetable includes that stop - and MKC have no plans to update it!

The contact details you need are at:
http://miltonkeynes.com/milton-keynes-bus-timetables.html

I suggest that you inform the Council as Stagecoach appear to have forgotten...
