Is This A Green Or Brown Way

By Robert Cook

A bright sunny Saturday morning in late September could not have been better for a protest. Traditional underdogs like the workers and downtrodden from far away places can rely on a sympathetic press, but when the middle classes have a go, there's usually lots of sneering. The MK expansion plan is short sighted too, because it is political and politicians only really care about votes and short term gain. As the economist John Maynard Keynes famously stated, 'In the long run we are all dead.'

Part of the consulation process

I joined locals at Longueville Hall, Newton Longville, concerned about the effects of the massive growth plan and Cheryl Montgomery was there to explain the situation from the partnership's perspective. There was no shortage of data to explain what the planners had been doing and how they expected it all to work out for the best.
