New Milton Keynes Guide book

mkguide

Mark Colthorpe has lived and worked in Milton Keynes since 1994.He wanted some more information about the parks, shops and a bit of history about the area, so he decided to buy a guide book from a local shop. After hunting high and low in book shops and in the library he realised there wasn't one available, so he decided to write his own, and here it is!
Ask anyone, and they have heard of Milton Keynes but don't know much about it, for some reason the national press and comedians alike have knocked it and told jokes about it. With this guide Mark aims not only to inform tourists, shoppers, visitors and home buyers but to redress the balance and show that Milton Keynes has a lot more to offer than people think.
Mark started writing the pocket sized book last year, researching, taking photos and illustrating this handy little guide. He wrote it in mind of the casual explorer, so you could just slip it in your pocket and wander around the city. It's true you can get lots of information from the web if you know where to look, but if you're on your bike or lost in a rainy park its not always convenient to reach for a lap top or your flat battery phone. The book is packed with bite size pieces of information and maps detailing all that is great about Milton Keynes.

Chapters include:

Location The nightlife
A potted history Its sport heritage
Its humble beginings Where to stay
The abundance of parks Art and culture
The great shoppping experience Its unique roads and paths
