When your tyres aren’t balanced correctly they will cause your steering wheel to wobble when you are travelling at certain speeds this usually happens when you are travelling at 30 mph or more. This leads to further damage and wear to your suspension and will wear your tyres prematurely. Poorly balanced wheels should be dealt with straight away, when this problem is not dealt with it can affect your vehicles performance such as, road holding and handling, fuel economy, and unwanted wear on your suspension and steering components.
C Tread Tyres will always balance your wheels when you buy new tyres from them. Using digital equipment will make sure your tyres are balanced accurately to the nearest gram to ensure even tyre wear. It is good practice to have your wheels balanced every 10,000 miles or after an impact with a kerb, large objects or potholes or when you think your tyre looks like it is wearing unevenly.

Repairing a tyre is not as straightforward as you might think.
A tyre must always be checked thoroughly before it is repaired. If the tyre displays any of the following, IT SHOULD NOT BE REPAIRED;
- Illegal tread depth (below 1.6 mm)
- run flat damage - breakdown of the tyres structural integrity.
- exposed cords.
- bead damage.
All puncture repairs are £19 including VAT.
Guide on how to find the size of your tyre.
On the diagram of the side wall of a tyre you will see markings that indicate the size and rating of the tyre. This is the typical information you would see on all tyres.

The Width is the first number 205 which stands for 205 mm.
The aspect ratio is the 2nd number after the/ which in this case is 65, this is the measurement from the rim of the tyre to the tread area, this is also measured in mm.
The R stands for Radial which tells you the construction type of the tyre, most car tyres these days are radials so this part isn’t to important. If there is no R the tyre is simply not a radial.
The 16 on this tyre stands for the diameter of the rim the tyre fits onto. This measurement is measured in inches.
The number 95 stands for the load rating of the tyre, the higher the number means for the more load the tyre can carry.
The V stands for the speed rating of the tyre, the speed rating symbolises the maximum speed the tyre can run at.
