New Zealand Prime Minister pays visit to Bletchley Park

The New Zealand Prime Minister, Helen Clark, visited Bletchley Park on Thursday 10th January whilst on a private trip to the UK.  The Right Honourable Mrs Clark admired the newly completed Colossus and Bombe Rebuilds as well as the other key Bletchley Park exhibitions.  Just hours later, on her return to New Zealand, she paid official tribute to the late Sir Edmund Hillary, calling him "a colossus".

Simon Greenish, Bletchley Park Trust Director, said "We were enormously privileged to welcome the Prime Minister who clearly had a very special personal interest in Bletchley Park and great admiration for the work of the wartime codebreakers.  It is gratifying that Bletchley Park Trust is attracting the international support of some of the most eminent and influential people in preserving this important heritage site for future generations."
