Police activity during The Prodigy at Milton Keynes Bowl

Police activityOnly 18 people, from a total of 65,000, had to be dealt with by Thames Valley Police during the concert of The Prodigy at MK Bowl on Saturday evening (24/7/2010).

Ten people were arrested and brought to Milton Keynes custody and a further eight people were dealt with at the event.

Details of arrests:

A 20-year-old man from Aylesbury was arrested on suspicion of driving while being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He has been released on police bail until 27 August.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been released on bail to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on 31 August.

A 26-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, both from Milton Keynes, were arrested under section 5 of the Public Order Act. They were released with a caution and Fixed Penalty Notice respectively.

Two men, aged 34 and 23, from London were arrested on suspicion of theft. They were both released without charge.

Two women, aged 29 and 31, from Birmingham, were arrested on suspicion of the supply of a controlled drug, class B, cannabis. Both women have been released on police bail until 6 September.

A 27-year-old man, from Bedfordshire, was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs. He was released with a caution.

A 38-year-old man, from London, was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs. He was released without charge.

Of the further eight people dealt with by officers at the MK Bowl, six people were cautioned for possession of class A drugs and two people received a street caution for possession of class B drugs.

Supt Simon Eatwell, said: “Overall the event ran very smoothly with very few issues and it is pleasing to know only 18 people out of the 65,000 who attended had to be dealt with by police.”

During the evening, police only received a small number of calls from residents concerned about people parking their vehicles in nearby residential areas. These calls were referred to Milton Keynes Council.
