Thames Valley Police has successfully closed down a cannabis factory in Milton Keynes after executing a warrant on a house in Westcroft on Thursday night (13/5/2010).
Officers forced entry to the property in Berrington Close at 7pm and found a sophisticated cannabis cultivation set up and approximately 126 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £10,000.
A 33-year-old man, from Bletchley, was arrested on suspicion of drugs possession with intent to supply class B drugs. He has been released on police bail pending further investigation.
Det Chf Insp Justin Fletcher, said: “Any warrant where we are able to close down a set up like this and disrupt the supply of drugs in our community is a success. The house had been rented out and extensive damage has been caused to the inside of the property including the electrics. It has taken officers over a day to dismantle the set up and empty the property of all the plants and equipment. ”
“As always we need local residents to contact us if they have any suspicions about a property being used as a cannabis factory in their street. We rely on community intelligence for raids such as this and we need their help to stamp it out of the city all together.”
