A familiar face among Milton Keynes golfers has returned to the town bringing his golfing expertise to Abbey Hill Golf Centre.
Gareth Harding, who previously coached in Milton Keynes for 20 years has returned to continue his love of golf coaching having spent the past two years as managing director at Long Sutton Golf Club in Somerset.
Harding, 45, is keen to go back to teaching after spending time running a golf club.
He said: “Teaching is my love, I love teaching golf. The principles are simple and easy to achieve if you don’t complicate things, which is what I pride myself of being able to do. My lessons are mainly swing orientated, I don’t complicate things by talking about the mind, I focus on the swing and what the club is doing.”
Gareth has coached a number of European Tour players as well as international players and elite amateurs. He also counts former Olympic athlete Kris Akabusi as one of his star pupils.
Akabusi said: “Gareth teaches the four fundamentals of golf – grip, stance, posture and swing plane while keeping it simple. After which he is keen to incorporate the natural discrepancies of your own style.
“Since going to Gareth I have dropped seven strokes from a 21 handicap to 14 within a year, which is in no small way to Gareth’s dedication and commitment to golf made easy.”
Gareth is available to teach golfers of all ages, sexes and abilities at Abbey Hill Golf Centre, where pupils can make use of the centre’s 21-bay covered driving range, putting green, short par-3 golf course and main 18-hole course.
Gordon Forster, Abbey Hill Golf Centre general manager, added: “It is a pleasure to welcome Gareth to Abbey Hill Golf Centre. He brings a wealth of coaching experience to the team of PGA professionals here and everyone at the centre is looking forward to working with him.”
