Prince Harry comes home. |
|
The speculation that Prince Harry may come home after the overseas media leak, became reality today. He has been fighting on the front line in Afghanistan along with the rest of our men. Good on him. Why shouldn’t he have been given the opportunity to fight for what he believes in? Even if it is an illegal war. It was intended for him to return within a few weeks with the rest of the battle group, but the ministry of defence brought him back early because he was apparently a threat to his immediate comrades. At least he stayed there long enough to get himself a medal, most other dignitaries gain there medals by going to particular war zones a few days at a time for visits and inspections to slowly build up their “conflict time” until they have done enough to get their medal. I think that’s why when a soldier gets a medal now it doesn’t mean as much as it should. The guys (and girls of course) who have worked so hard putting up with the Army bullshit as well as trying to do their tough job deserve more than a medal, and it is an insult to their struggle when the upper crust get one for doing bugger all, and parade around like war heroes. There is always the opinion of course that he knew full well that he wouldn’t last the full term out there because his over the top father would be worried for his safety, and just give the word when he decides it’s time to bring Harry home. This isn’t Harry’s fault at all. Although wouldn’t it be lovely if we could all make a phone call and bring our loved ones home when we fear for their lives? This has just ended up looking like a cheap publicity stunt by the Royal family, and is pathetic. Leave him out there and let him do the job he is being paid for and stop pampering him like a little baby. Prince Harry is a British soldier and belongs to the British Army. He is a trained killer and will kill if he is told to. If I am wrong then he shouldn’t have joined in the first place. I can appreciate the fact that the reality of destruction and death is not pleasant, however, thousands of our proud soldiers have to deal with it every day. Gibbo. |
