Sir Martin Gilbert To Give A Lecture Entitled 'Churchill and Enigma' |

Bletchley Park Trust today proudly announced that the eminent historian, Sir Martin Gilbert will be giving a special lecture in the Ballroom of the Bletchley Park Mansion on Sunday 30th November AT 2.30 PM entitled ‘Churchill and Enigma’. Winston Churchill's biographer, will examine Churchill's wartime policies in the light of Enigma, and will show the place of Signals Intelligence in the evolution of British strategy, and its role in all the main developments of the Second World War on land, at sea, and in the air. Among the topics he will cover are the planned German invasion of Britain, Coventry, sinking the Bismarck, Alamein, the war on the Eastern Front, the Normandy Landings and Dresden. A pamphlet by Sir Martin Gilbert, ‘Churchill and Signals Intelligence’, specially produced for this event, will be on sale at the lecture for £3, signed and personally inscribed by Sir Martin. |
