I am writing in regards to a very positive experience I have recently had with your company, so much so that I felt compelled to acknowledge the excellent staff that I had a pleasure to deal with.
On New Years Day, after a heavy 36 hours awake, I get a cab from you guys between Wolverton and Stony Stratford from driver 156. At my destination, I didn’t have the money on me so I went in to my house to get cash. To show I wasn’t going to do a runner I left my wallet on the dashboard. Unfortunately upon paying the driver I forgot to collect my wallet.
The next day, when I realised this, I called you up to see if my wallet was found and I spoke to a girl called Tammy. She was very reassuring, professional, friendly and above all patient with me as I took my time to get the details needed to locate which cab I had left it in. Tammy then found the driver on the system and found that my wallet had been reported as found (a great weight off of my shoulders!). As the driver was not on shift she advised that I called back tomorrow and in the meantime check with the police station to see if he had possibly handed it in. As it turns out, he hadn’t, but I still feel that this was excellent advice.
Over the next couple of days I called again to see if there was any more news on my situation. I spoke to Tammy a couple of times and also Louise, who was equally helpful. Eventually, on Tuesday, having been advised to speak to the controller on shift, I was advised that the driver had been off sick and that as he lived near he would drop it off that same day. Unfortunately, this was the only part of my experience where I was left nervous for a period of time as the controller I spoke to was quite abrupt and obviously had no time for me. I understand he may have been busy however he wasn’t particularly reassuring and seemed eager to have me off of the phone. Overall however, this does not affect my opinion of your company as I guess his core business is not speaking to customers and he probably had better things to do. Later I called back up and spoke to the controller again who told me the wallet was still on its way.
Sure enough, mid afternoon, the driver dropped the wallet off at my house and refused to take my reward of £10 I offered him as he said it was his job and he shouldn’t be paid for being honest. This was the most impressive thing of all!
I would like to say, specifically, both driver 156 and Tammy are huge assets to your team and you should do everything you can to hold on to them. This is exactly the kind of experience that builds customer loyalty and I guarantee you that I will tell all of my friends and work colleagues about this. In a world where customer service and trust are both eroding within general society, this was a refreshing reminder of the good nature found in a lot of people.
Please pass on my gratitude to those mentioned and I hope you and your company have a very successful 2010.
Regards,
Tim Stone
