SmartWater offered to Greenleys residents in Milton Keynes |
12 September 2008Residents in Greenleys received SmartWater property-marking packs in a bid to prevent them from becoming future victims of burglary. The packs were distributed by police community support officers (PCSOs) and Milton Keynes crime reduction officers on 4 September. SmartWater is a property-marking system - much like DNA. It is directly linked and unique to your property. SmartWater will help deter criminals from entering properties, as the risk of being caught is greater. Jan Hodgkinson, crime reduction adviser, said: “I was really pleased with the outcome of the day and that we were able to make people feel reassured, protected and safe. “At the same time, we are deterring potential offenders - whose risk of being caught has now greatly increased.” SmartWater packs were used in Oxman Lane and residents felt safe in the knowledge that SmartWater has been applied in their homes. The packs given to residents included SmartWater stickers - to put in windows of doors and properties to let potential offenders know that SmartWater has been used in the property. |
