Taxi driver robbed – Netherfield (Milton Keynes)

Police are appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was robbed in Milton Keynes in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was robbed in Milton Keynes in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident happened at 4am as the taxi driver picked two men up from The Hide in Netherfield. One man got into the back of the taxi and the other sat in the passenger seat at the front. The man in the back threatened the taxi driver with a knife, there was a struggle and the driver sustained two knife wounds to his leg. The offenders then ran off with a tin containing money.

The driver was taken to Milton Keynes General Hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Det Con Paul Summerville said: “We believe this incident may be connected to another robbery on a taxi driver in Conniburrow a few days before and we would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the attack. One offender is white and the other is black.”

A 19-year-old woman from Milton Keynes was arrested on suspicion of robbery and is currently on police bail. Police have also arrested a 26-year-old man who is currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.
