Two men from Milton Keynes have each been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to a number of offences, including robbery.
Jason Anthony Cox, aged 33 and Paul Woodcock, aged 25, both of no fixed abode, were sentenced at Huntingdon Crown Court on Wednesday (21/10).
Cox pleaded guilty to robbery, aggravated vehicle taking and two counts of common assault. Woodcock pleaded guilty to robbery and aggravated vehicle taking.
On Wednesday 10 June at about 12.35pm, Cox and Woodcock ordered a taxi from the Costcutter store in Stacey Bushes and travelled to the Co-op store in Fishermead. On arrival they threatened the taxi driver and demanded money. The driver got out of the vehicle and the two men drove off and collided with a lamp post in Oldbrook.
PC Kevin Hudson-Cook arrived at the scene and identified two men fitting the description of the offenders. He attempted to arrest them single-handed and was assaulted by the men before other officers arrived to assist with the arrests.
