Tipping The Balance For Local Projects |

Eleven projects across the Milton Keynes area have been offered funding totalling £652,911 from the Landfill Communities Fund of Waste Recycling Group Ltd, distributed by Environmental Body WREN.
Over the last few months, WREN has agreed to provide funding to the following projects in the area:
The grants made under the Landfill Communities Fund (formally known as the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme) look to improve community life by enhancing existing facilities as well as providing new facilities, including play areas, village and church halls, community centres, nature reserves, skate parks and multi use games areas. In addition historic and religious buildings can also receive funding for restoration work. Projects applying for grants from WREN are assessed by an individual panel of locally based experts in each county for their suitability, sustainability and community benefit. Matthew Cox, WREN Project Manager said: “WREN are currently seeking applications from community groups for projects in the Milton Keynes area. We are looking for good community schemes and can offer assistance to groups throughout the application process. It should be noted that the maximum grant now available in the area is £50,000.” Peter Cox, Managing Director of WREN explained: “The projects that we’ve funded will all make a positive contribution to their local communities and environments and we would encourage any organisations looking for funding to contact WREN and find out more about how the Landfill Communities Fund can help.” Organisations and community groups requiring funding for beneficial projects should visit www.wren.org.uk to assess their eligibility or contact WREN on 01953 717165 |
