sage-pay-logo_RGBSage Pay is one of the latest UK businesses to join YourRacingCar.com’s innovative membership scheme, the Guerrilla Marketing Club (GMC). The Milton Keynes based motor racing crew is well known for its inventive approach to raising the funds required to keep their race car competing and following great successes on and off the track in 2009, the team are starting their second year on the British Touring Car Championship circuit with a new concept.

Every business of whatever size has a core value, if not many. For YourRacingCar.com this is very evident in everything they do. Making motorsport accessible. From the way the team is financed through a mass sponsorship model to the candid trackside reporting, there’s nothing traditional about this outfit.

The Guerrilla Marketing Club was established to make it possible for almost any size of business to join the team and benefit from the highly regarded virtues of motorsport marketing. With companies of every size and representing a wide variety of business sectors, YRC have broken down the barriers to traditional motorsport sponsorships.

Fulvio Mussi and Louise GoodmanOne company to acknowledge their support of YRCs initiatives is Sage Pay, the UK and Irelands leading online payment provider. Sage Pay, the union of Protx and Sage, currently provides payment services to over 27,000 e-commerce organisations. So what is it they’re getting out of a partnership with YRC? Team Principle, Hannah James explains YRC’s take on it “We were a Sage Pay customer before we established a more involved partnership and quite frankly, they were a total breath of fresh air. We’d had some irritating experiences with previous payment solutions for the YRC club and we’d avoided the bigger companies because we wrongly assumed they’d be expensive. The expensive part was not researching better in the first place! Sage Pay have joined us primarily for the opportunity to network with our other GMC members – we’re the best endorsement they can get from that perspective, they’ve saved us a fortune, it’s as simple as that! They’re also using some of the additional opportunities on offer to GMC members to reward staff and existing customers – they’ve completely embraced the concept and we’re very proud to represent them on the track.”
With the YRC Renault Clio Cup making its first public appearance on April 3rd at Thruxton in Hampshire, Sage Pay will see their logo in pride of place when YRC driver Fulvio Mussi takes to the grid, fully intent on making an impression in his move back to front wheel drive racing.
Speaking about their first involvement in motorsport Charlotte Speller of Sage Pay said “Teaming up with YRC is our first foray into anything motorsport related and we’re really excited to be part of it. Not only is it a great way to get to know one of our customers, it’s an innovative way of networking and the race days are perfect for corporate entertainment.”
